"HE IS" - Week 8 Bible Reading Plan

7-Day Devotional HE IS
The Way, The Truth, and The Life
Jesus doesn’t give directions—He gives Himself.
John 14:6
DAY 1 — WHEN EXPECTATIONS MISS JESUS
The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. 13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna![a]” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”[b] “Blessed is the king of Israel!”John 12:12–13
Reflection Palm Sunday was loud, exciting, and full of expectation. But the crowd misunderstood Jesus. They wanted a political savior. He came to be a spiritual Savior. They wanted control. He came with surrender. It’s possible to celebrate Jesus… and still not truly understand Him. That’s the danger. We don’t just need enthusiasm about Jesus— we need clarity about who He really is.
Application Where might your expectations of Jesus be shaping Him into something He never claimed to be?
Prayer Jesus, help me see You clearly—not as I want You to be, but as You truly are.
DAY 2 — THE WAY IS A PERSON
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6a
Reflection We all know what it feels like to be lost. Not just geographically— but emotionally, spiritually, directionally. Jesus doesn’t say, “I’ll point you the right way.” He says: “I am the way.” That means: The way forward isn’t a plan It’s a Person You don’t need perfect clarity about the future —you need closeness with Jesus.
Application Instead of asking, “What’s the next step?” Ask, “Am I staying close to Him?”
Prayer Jesus, when I feel lost, remind me that You are not showing me the way—you are the way.
DAY 3 — WHEN GOD’S WAY FEELS UNEXPECTED
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8–9
Reflection Palm Sunday teaches us something important: God’s way often doesn’t look like our way. The crowd expected power. Jesus chose humility. The crowd expected victory. Jesus walked toward a cross. God’s way often leads through: Yielding Waiting Trust But His way always leads to life.
Application Where is God leading you in a way that feels uncomfortable or unexpected?
Prayer Father, help me trust Your way—even when it’s not the way I would choose.
DAY 4 — TRUTH IN A CONFUSING WORLD
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6b
Reflection We live in a world full of opinions. Everyone has a take. Everyone has a version of truth. And it creates confusion. Jesus doesn’t say, “I’ll teach you truth.” He says: “I am the truth.” Truth is not something you construct— it’s Someone you trust. When Jesus defines truth, everything else gets clearer.
Application What voices are shaping your thinking more than Jesus?
Prayer Jesus, quiet the noise around me and anchor me in what is true—You.
DAY 5 — WHEN TRUTH CUTS THROUGH THE FOG
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31–32
Reflection Living without truth feels like driving through fog. You’re moving… but unsure. Jesus doesn’t just inform you— He clears the windshield. When truth shows up:
- Lies lose their power
- Fear loses its grip
- Clarity begins to grow
Truth isn’t harsh—it’s freeing.
Application What lie have you been believing that Jesus wants to replace with truth?
Prayer Jesus, expose what’s not true in me, and replace it with Your truth.
DAY 6 — WHEN LIFE FEELS EMPTY
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6c
Reflection You can have everything… and still feel like something’s missing. That’s because: Success doesn’t equal fulfillment Activity doesn’t equal life More doesn’t equal meaning Jesus doesn’t say, “I’ll improve your life.”
He says:“I am the life.” Life isn’t found in what you add—it’s found in who you’re connected to.
Application Are you trying to fill your life—or are you staying connected to Jesus?
Prayer Jesus, I don’t want a fuller schedule—I want a fuller connection with You.
DAY 7 — TRUSTING THE NAME
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5–6
Reflection Faith is not having all the answers. It’s trusting the right Person. Imagine walking across a bridge in the dark. You can’t see the end. You don’t know the distance. But someone you trust says, “Walk with me.” That’s what Jesus offers. Not full visibility— but full reliability.
- He is the Way
- He is the Truth
- He is the Life
And He can be trusted.
Application Where is Jesus asking you to trust Him right now?
Prayer Jesus, I may not see the whole path—but I trust You to lead me.
Closing Thought: Faith isn’t knowing all the answers—it’s trusting the right Way, Truth and Life.
