"Faith Through Doubt: A Journey Toward Deeper Trust" Bible Reading Plan

Faith Through Doubt: A Journey Toward Deeper Trust
Day 1 – Devotion and Doubt Can Coexist
“When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.” — Matthew 28:17
It’s easy to think doubt disqualifies us from real faith, but here in Matthew 28:17, we see a remarkable truth: some of Jesus’ closest followers doubted, even as they worshiped. Doubt didn’t push them away from Jesus—it actually placed them in position to receive His final words. Your questions don’t have to drive you from God; they can drive you to Him.
Prayer Prompt: Lord, I bring my doubts to You. Help me not to run from them, but to trust You in the midst of them.
Day 2 – Jesus Doesn’t Wait for Perfect Faith
“Then Jesus came to them...” — Matthew 28:18a
Jesus didn't reprimand the doubters or separate them from the rest—He came to them. The presence of doubt didn’t keep Him from showing up. He approaches us not based on how strong our faith is, but on how strong His love is. Don’t wait until your faith feels perfect to meet with Him—He meets you right where you are.
Prayer Prompt: Jesus, thank You that You come near to me even when my faith feels shaky. Help me to trust that You are with me—even in uncertainty.
Day 3 – Authority in the Midst of Questions
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” — Matthew 28:18b
When doubts rise, we often question God’s power or presence. But Jesus responds to their doubt by reminding them of His complete authority. When life feels unstable, rest in the truth that Jesus is still in control—over all things in heaven and on earth, even over your questions.
Prayer Prompt: Jesus, remind me today that Your authority is greater than my doubt. Help me lean on that truth when I feel uncertain.
Day 4 – God Uses Imperfect People
“Therefore go and make disciples...” — Matthew 28:19a
Jesus entrusted the Great Commission to a group that included doubters. That means your doubts don’t disqualify you from your purpose. Faith isn’t the absence of questions—it’s the decision to follow Jesus even with them. Your story, questions and all, can lead others to Him.
Prayer Prompt: Lord, thank You for using people like me. Help me walk in obedience, even if I don’t have all the answers.
Day 5 – Obedience Grows Faith
“...teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” — Matthew 28:20a
Faith is strengthened not just by knowing more—but by living out what we know. Sometimes the path through doubt is found in simple obedience. Do the next right thing God has shown you. Trust deepens when we practice what we believe—even imperfectly.
Prayer Prompt: Father, help me obey You even when I don’t understand everything. Use my obedience to strengthen my trust in You.
Day 6 – God’s Presence in Uncertainty
“And surely I am with you always...” — Matthew 28:20b
One of the greatest promises in Scripture comes right after an acknowledgment of doubt: “I am with you.” Jesus doesn’t guarantee clarity, but He does guarantee His presence. You may not feel certain, but you can be confident that you are never alone.
Prayer Prompt: Jesus, thank You for staying with me, even in seasons of doubt. Help me sense Your nearness today.
Day 7 – Doubt Can Be a Doorway to Deeper Faith
Scripture Recap: Matthew 28:16–20
The disciples’ doubt didn’t end the story—it was part of it. In fact, it was a turning point that led to boldness, mission, and lifelong devotion. Faith often grows not in the absence of doubt but through wrestling with it. When handled honestly, doubt becomes the soil where deeper trust is formed.
Prayer Prompt: Lord, thank You that my questions don’t scare You. Help me walk through them with You and grow into a more authentic, grounded faith.
